| Want to Party With Our Boys???? |
[09 Dec 2008|07:58am] |
I had a wild idea the other day and want to know if anyone is interested in a bit of Holiday fun/interaction with the boyz (& few girls) from the greater Dragon's Disciple/ChildsPrey universes. I was thinking an informal RPG type thread or three here on the DD LJ centering around a big holiday party at Ryuhei's place.
So if you have a fav character you always wanted to mess with now's the time to have some AU fun with them. Post in this thread and let me know.

| Hot men in leather! |
[08 Dec 2008|08:30pm] |

What NYPD patrolman Ray Watts wants to do is finish his shift and take a much needed vacation. If he has to first suffer through playing chauffeur to some pain in the ass foreign cop visiting New York on a special fact-finding detail then so be it.
But what Ray gets is a pleasant and arousing surprise when Inspector Miki Nabeshima from Tokyo’s Metropolitan Police Department shows up and skillfully escorts him into a world like none he’s ever known, a world Ray never thought much about, but once he’s ushered in, he knows he’ll never be able to turn back.

| Orange Moon got a great new review! |
[30 Oct 2008|10:56pm] |
From Jen B. It's on her blog here nestled in nicely between pics of smexy men. ^_^
Here's a snippet:
Orange Moon by Barbara Sheridan and Anne Cain was another stunner for me. Wow! What a gorgeous little book. It's about two Japanese pop stars in love. It's adorable and incredibly clever. The writing is airtight and doesn't have that loose, lumpy feel of so many e-books these days.

When you read this part of the book: (page 22 in the pdf version)
Ray collapsed onto the couch the minute he got home, not even bothering to take off his boots. Drained of all energy, he wondered if he was getting too old for this shit. He worked hard, then played even harder on his days off, and although he wasn’t even drunk,he was kicked in the ass from the club and the drive back and forth from Connecticut. He’d like to find a hanging spot closer to home but that had never been a good idea. He had too much to lose to risk being caught up in any dumb shit.
Did ya ever wonder exactly what "shit" Ray liked to do on his days off and where he acquired that box of fetish stuff our Detective Dai would like playing with once he grew up?
You'll have the chance to find out in the not too distant future because NRP has offered to publish the tale of how our Ray first got his kink on.

We got the coolest review evar for Dark Whispers from Cocktail Reviews.
Here's a taste:
By far the strongest and most mature of their works to date, Dark Whispers is not the kind of read that will appeal to everyone – there’s no sap or fluff here – but if you enjoy angst and violence with your sexy boys, this is the book for you. There are a couple of scenes that may hit your squick buttons (one scene in particular has been flagged by other reviewers, although the only thing I found icky about it was the fact that Daisuke wore nylon undies – mmm, static), but hardcore yaoi fans won’t be too shocked and appalled.
Bottom line: If you like Yamane Amano’s Viewfinder series, you’ll love this.

| Check this film out if you come across it |
[23 May 2008|09:01am] |
I saw this recently and LOVED it to pieces. That's high praise considering I don't watch many things on TV lately. The film is Shock to the System and here's the blurb I snagged from YouTube along with a clip.
When hard boiled private eye Donald Strachey (Chad Allen) finds his latest client dead, an apparent suicide, Albany's favorite gay detective smells a rat and decides to take matters into his own hands.
With the help of his straight-laced but adoring husband Tim Callahan (Sebastian Spence) and his occasionally too-eager assistant Kenny Kwon (Nelson Wong), Strachey's investigation leads him on a dark and dangerous trail into the world of "gay conversion therapy" - a twisted mix of psychology and religion designed by Dr. Trevor Cornell (Michael Woods) to turn homosexuals "straight".
With a cast of sexy young suspects at the heart of the mystery, and a standout performance from pop culture icon Morgan Fairchild as a wealthy socialite with a few secrets of her own, this second installment of the successful "Donald Strachey Mysteries", based on author Richard Stevenson's much-loved book series, is sure to leave even the most jaded audiences in "shock" - http://www.heretv.com/strachey
I adored the Strachey character but his s.o. was a bit too "prissy" for me. Gorgeous but prissy.

| A Surprise |
[12 May 2008|07:48pm] |
Start the countdown good people because in two months Anne and I will tie up those tricky loose ends from Blood Brothers and redeem ourselves for what that rotten Mr. Shu did in The Dragon's Disciple by presenting you with LOST SOULS
More than a hundred years ago, Kabuki actor Ryuhei Nakamura and the vampire Kiyoshi Ishibe cemented an immortal love in old San Francisco. But at the dawn of the 20th century, their lives were torn apart at the hands of tragedy. Now Ryuhei's hope is reborn in the form of Jesse Shigeta, a gifted musical student. The young man is so like Ryuhei’s murdered beloved, that he believes fate has been kind in reuniting them once more, this time for eternity.
But Jesse is full of secrets. As a child, the supernaturally gifted young man discovered Kiyoshi’s soul still bound to Earth. His every intent was to reunite his ghostly friend with Ryuhei, but when Jesse falls in love with the vampire himself, he will stop at nothing to keep his place by Ryuhei's side. Even if that means calling upon ghost hunters to destroy Kiyoshi.( Read more... )
